Building Information

The Lifelong Learning Center will have open air conference rooms, huddle rooms, and regular conference rooms for use. DoCS staff/departments are welcome to use these rooms when needed. However, these spaces will have to be scheduled in advance. Staff can submit their requests to schedule these communal areas via the Central Room Reservation - EMS (Event Management System).

Two offices on the first level have been designated as areas where your department/program can greet your guest(s) (e.g., discuss/share program information, complete paperwork, etc.). For those guests that need access to the second or third levels, an on-site coordinator will reach out to the department/contact via telephone, and once the department/contact approves, direct the guest to the elevator. We ask that departments/contacts to escort their guests to their designated areas.

Residents of the LLC have access to the building 24/7. DoCS Staff that do not have office space at the LLC will have access from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.

Any visitors (Non DoCS staff) must sign in via the kiosks at the entrance near the front desk. The Envoy system, the visitor management tool, will send an email alert to the visitor's host. Hosts are directed to meet their visitors in the lobby. All visitors must be escorted by their host while in the building.

The Lifelong Learning Center has a Fitness Center located on the third level. Employees granted privileges to access and use the gym and its amenities. (PLEASE NOTE: Access will be based on employment status and completion of a liability waiver form).

Classrooms/common Areas/space

Departments/Programs can schedule classroom space for their courses/programs 6 months in advance. Requests will continue to be submitted via the Central Scheduling System (EMS).

The Operations team will work with departments and seek support, if needed, from Community Service Officers (CSOs) under the Rutgers Police Department.  Departments will be charged directly for any CSO support.

The Operations Team will be responsible for confirming all scheduling requests for communal areas submitted in EMS.

The Operations Team will be responsible for classroom set-ups that are requested before the courses/programs. Additionally, all staff will be trained to provide base-level IT support. If more advanced IT support is needed, please coordinate with the ITACS (Information Technology at Continuing Studies) team accordingly.

Each department is responsible for placing the food orders for the courses/programs. However, we ask that when placing orders, please be sure to share the exact location (address and classroom number), and any special instructions with your vendor/caterer. The department placing the order is also responsible for cleanup at the end of the course/program.

Yes, examples of the different room configurations can be found on the main DoCS Operations page.

ONLY DoCS departments will be able to schedule and secure classroom space at the LLC

Departments will use the DoCS Central Scheduling Online System (EMS) to submit requests for space use.

Mail/Postal Service

Mail is delivered to the LLC every even day during the week. If there are more urgent mailing needs, staff can feel free to go directly to mail services.

Each department/program will be allocated a storage unit where they can store department materials (e.g., marketing materials, packages, shipments received, mass mailings scheduled to go out, etc.). These units will be on the first floor near the mailroom and loading dock.
