Hiring Process
- Submit a Hiring Exemption Request Form.
- Complete a CARF (Classification and Recruitment Form). The completed CARF should document the position description by outlining job responsibilities, preferred and/or required skills and education required to perform a job duty.
- Open a DoCS HR Help Desk Ticket by visiting docshr.rutgers.edu and upload the completed CARF.

- Onboarding New Employees
- 15Five: Once the full-time employee has been officially hired, supervisors should grant the employee access to 15Five. If you need any assistance, please get in touch with ITACS.
- Probationary Period: Supervisors are expected to meet with full-time employees to complete the probationary period form.
Payroll
Approving Timesheets:
It is the university’s policy to pay all employees for time worked in an accurate and timely manner, in accordance with applicable laws, and to maintain required supporting documents and records. To facilitate this process, supervisors must review and approve hourly employee timesheets every Thursday before 6 pm.
